This is our tribute page to fallen bands. As time goes on, we will be adding more and more (unfortunately) and thought it a good idea to not only honor great local bands, but to have a place that people could hopefully find out what some of the members ended up doing after the "big break up".

All Wound Up was a great pop punk band! Great live energetic show and connection with the audience!

Butterface will be sorely missed in the local music community - they added a great pop/punk sound to the area. And for a short while some of the original members reformed a band, Pop Rehab, but that project was short-lived. The singer, Brian Jennings, is living out his dreams as a bass player with a popular Canadian band, Closure, who tour the country (USA) on a regular basis. Way to go, Brian!

Contemplation
Contemplation was a female fronted melodic/aggresive rock band out of NW Washington(Sequim to be exact).  They played play music because it was their passion.  Contemplation was a blend of everything from punk to metal to melodies that are folk inspired.   Mostly distorted and sung with passion, we are true to our music.  Oh yeah, and we have fun too.

Hmmmmm... is it DSP or Lather?!!  Well just as the band had gone back to it's roots, the inevitable "band break up" occured (eek!!)!!  Lather was a female-fronted band that definitely delivered a different Modern, Alternative Rock sound in the local music community.  You can still listen to and request their great music from their old website http://listen.to/lather.  Kary started a new project Flat Affect.  She's also gotten back together with Greg Larson (Lather guitarist) and Mike Schuyler on a new project.   We will keep you up to date on current projects as we hear of them.

MARCH 2002 ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Mind Over Water called their music "power punk pop". It combined a driving, punk and metal based backup with melodic, accessible vocals delivered by their classically trained female lead vocalist. Lyrics were often  humorous and/or tongue in cheek.

UPDATE FROM TOM WILCOX:  The band is currently inactive due to the retirement of our lead singer Annie.  We had changed our name to "Psychobabble" and had a new CD ready to release, but the project was stillborn.   Some members are still hopeful of continuing with a new lead singer, but that is vaporware at this point.  Please delete our listing under "Bands".

Does anyone know what happened to Second Hand Smoke? They were an Original hard rock band, "campaigning their musical vision throughout the western edge of Puget Sound, just beyond the forboding Shadow of Seattle". If anyone has any information, please contact us at Vampire Fish.
Their old link is no longer up - http://www.delphi.com/secondhandsmoke

05/14/03 UPDATE: Hi there, I was checking out your site and found my old band listed in "6 feet Under" with a request to find out what happened to them. I' m Chuck Glisson, and I was the guitarist for Secondhand Smoke. We have in fact broken up. Original drummer Phil Westrum moved to Seattle and has retired from live gigging. Singer Todd McClain moved to Annacortez, and has also retired from live shows. Bass guitarist Matt Schaeffer has moved to Bangor Maine, and is playing in a rock band called "Chaos in Order" . Chuck Glisson(myself) still plays in the local area, in a band called "Common Thread". There are plans to publish a Tribute website to Secondhand Smoke in the near future. I will send along that link as well as "Chaos in Order", and "Common Thread" links in the near future. Thank you for your interest in our band, we have many fond memories playing to the people of Kitsap county, Chuck

SLOW GOAT RIOT
Slow Goat Riot played loud, original rock and metal, with their favorite covers thrown in for good measure.

SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING
Surgeon General's Warning was a four piece folk-rock band from Port Orchard.  They wrote very good songs and were really headed somewhere.  The band finally earned their first paying Seattle gig at pioneer square in October 2002.  Just hours before the gig, their bassist Ken Richmond died from mixing pills with alcohol.  2 of the remaining 3 went on to form Nikx Lazy Eye.   Surgeon General's Warning and Ken Richmond will be forever a memory in my heart.

THINKES
Thinkes is no longer a band, but (the last I heard) Matt (vocals and incredible guitar playing) is playing with the house band at the Bay Street Ale House in Port Orchard - check them out!

Third is just three guys who came together through a love of all varieties of punk and ska music. Their dynamic live shows explode with schizophrenia.

Up On Blocks music was what we call Rock/County Fusion.  It was fun, up beat and unique.  Their tunes were not korny, but a mix of Commander Cody and J.J Cale and plastic pink flamingos...in other words... Trailer Park Music!
